Google Adds Historical Asset Performance View for RSAs

Following the rollout of granular asset-level metrics in Responsive Search Ads (RSAs), Google Ads has now introduced a Historical Performance View, letting advertisers track how each headline and description has performed over time.

Advertisers can now compare asset performance week-over-week or across custom date ranges, with charts for impressions, CTR, conversions, and conversion value per asset.

How to access it:

  1. Navigate to Campaigns → Assets → Assets → Performance
  2. Enable the new “Compare date ranges” toggle to visualize trends per asset.

What else is new:

  • CSV export now includes asset-level metrics
  • Historical scorecards highlight top 3 and bottom 3 assets per campaign
  • Supports filtering by campaign type (Search, PMax, Demand Gen)
  • Integration with Experiments tab to test new assets based on trends

Why it matters: Advertisers can finally go beyond static labels and optimize RSAs based on real, time-based performance insights.

This update was first spotted by paid search specialists Rachel Schardt and Lucas Orellana.
